Overcoming Depression (with subtitles)

Depression is one of the most commonly experienced mental health difficulties. It can be
a debilitating and sometimes scary mental health problem to live with. Our Overcoming
Depression workshop looks to improve your understanding of what depression is, why
you might be experiencing depression and reflect on how it is impacting your life. This
workshop also includes  information on “Seasonal Affective Disorder”.
As with all of our workshops, we provide you with a range of practical self-help
strategies to help you cope with, manage and hopefully overcome depression. Please
note, in this workshop we sensitively explore the topic of suicide and self-harm.

The strategies in this workshop draw on a range of psychosocial interventions, and
includes a number of lifestyle tips that might be of benefit. We also use Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy techniques and discuss medication and psychotherapy options.
